Samhain(pronounced Sow-enn) marks the end of the growing season and the Celtic New Year and was traditionally celebrated from October 31 to November 1. This Sabbat marked a liminal time - a transitional period or state between worlds - where we stand at the threshold between one realm and another allowing Spirits to enter into our world more easily and for us to enter theirs. This was a time for ancestor worship for the Celtic people and a time in which divination rituals were performed.
Celebrate Samhain with this intoxicating blend of veil-thinning herbs, woods and resins. This Sabbat incense is hand-crafted with frankincense and myrrh resins, patchouli leaf, sandalwood powder, cinnamon powder, orange peel and oak bark powder, along with patchouli, orange and cinnamon essential oils. Use this incense to thin the veil and enable communication with the spirit world or simply to enjoy its alluring mix of Fall fragrances.
Incense is sold in packs of 6 cones and all incense is hand-crafted with organic ingredients, including cedarwood sawdust and makko powder (also known as Tabu no ki) from the bark of the Machilus thunbergii tree. This all-natural organic powder acts as a binder which holds the cones together and helps to regulate how they burn. There are no fillers, additives or artificial fragrances in any incense that I make, except for musk oil which is only available as a synthetic fragrance for ethical reasons.
Each cone is weighed to between 3 to 3.5 grams before being dried to ensure uniformity in size and end up being about 1" tall. Given that they are hand made, there may be some variation in shape.
