Freya is the Norse Goddess of love, beauty, magick (seidr), fertility, war and death, female sexuality, and is wife to Odin. She travels in a chariot drawn by two cats, wears a magical necklace called Brísingamen - a necklace of precious metal and fire or amber - and a cape of falcon feathers.
She is known for her love of all things fine and beautiful, as well as for her promiscuity and many extramarital affairs. It was she who brought the wisdom and practice of seidr to the Gods and humankind and is a rather accomplished sorceress. Freya rules over the realm of Folkvangr where she receives half of those who die in battle (the other half go to Valhalla with Odin). It is from her name that we get the day of the week Friday - Freya's day.
